Hitch is great but installation required modifications

This was a fairly straightforward installation but the fishwire bolt heads would NOT fit into the holes in the frame of my 2010 Honda Element EX. The obvious solution would be to enlarge the holes but I do not have a large enough metal drill bit (about 1") that I could use in anything other than a drill press so drilling is not really much of an option. Instead I ground the bolt heads to a slightly smaller diameter until they fit into the holes in the frame. I have a grinder and a comfy place to work so it was not too bad but it did take considerably more than 30 minutes to complete the install.Also, I replaced the provided nuts with nylon lock nuts to eliminate concerns about loosening. Seems they could have provided these, or at least lock washers...I am not sure why the holes in my vehicle were too small and the holes others are not but it was a bit of a hassle. Just be prepared to do some extra work.As noted, the hitch itself, once installed, is well-made and seems more than adequate.

Great for the Honda Element

I put it on my 05 Element and I towed a Uhaul triler 8x5 across the US and this was mighty fine! Very happy with my purchase
