Dr. Bernd's Collagen

Since I have somehow become a Sr. Citizen, I need all the help I can get to keep my body closer to the age of my mind. I have been taking this collagen now for almost a year and have found that I am in far less pain with the heavy labors I do. It is a great product. I add it to my morning juice cocktail and again in my kefir Smoothie that I have for lunch. I also give this to my husband and have seen a significant improvement in him. He had a hip replacement and then a year later took a nasty fall and broke the femur in 4 places. Although he is full of nuts and bolts, he is moving far better than he did before adding the collagen. I highly recommend this to all who feel their body challenged.

Great Collagen Formula!!

I switched over to this product from my normal collagen product because of its low molecular weight (enzymatically digested), which makes it more bioavailable--very, very important. In other words, it should be easier for the body to assimilate.Why collagen in the first place?from the manufacturer's label:*up to 30% of all protein in the body is collagen*up to 70% of that protein is in the connective tissueThe body's ability to create connective tissue (bones, muscles, joints, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, hair, skin, nails) diminishes as we age--what doesn't LOL!! Collagen is often used to support treatment of arthritis, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and vanity stuff like skin, as in reducing wrinkles in the skin. Haha! That's what first led me to collagen anyway.Further, in my personal case, I had increased my total workouts (why? because I am fighting the biological downslide of aging) and wanted to support my joints and ligaments because I'm engaging in much more strenuous exercise. This stuff tastes great! and it does help to curb my appetite. Along with those features, I'm hoping that it will also help with endurance over time. Makes sense though--if your connective tissue is doing great, your body should do great also.Anyway, I'm happy with this product. We studied a lot about connective tissue when I retook college biology a few years ago, and it's the stuff that's holding us together--without it we'd look like sea jelly... so, it's important to support the structure--this is a point that is not talked about a lot in terms of nutrition.Note that this is an animal derived product, so if you're vegan, you'll have to use something else.

Big difference

This product has made a big difference to me - my joints are much better and I am feeling stronger and healthier, with a greater feeling of well-being. However I must say that in the beginning I was using too small a dose (1 Tbsp/day) and not remembering to take it regularly, so I did not see a benefit. For some reason I started adding it to my coffee, 1 Tbsp per cup (it dissolves great) and with several cups of coffee a day, I noticed improvement within a week. Also my partner saw improvement in his skin, which had been itchy before.I recommend this to my fibro/chronic fatigue patients and to everyone who wants the most bang for their supplement buck.
