Worth the investment

I just ordered these boots and found out there is an Arche store on my way home from work. I stopped in and tried them on and they were amazing. Amazon has the lowest price I've found so far, and I read an online review that said Arche is one of the best, longest lasting, most comfortable brands this person had ever owned etc.When I tried the boots on in the store, the color of the latex soles was much darker than the color in the photo online. It was super dark brown, so it looked even better on.When folded, the top of the boot opening gets pretty narrow. I tried to roll the cuff down while they were on and it was nearly impossible. I don't know the circumference of my calves but I'm built on the smaller side, so if you tend to have trouble fitting boots over your calves, this may be one of them.That being said, I'm sure I can still tuck skinny jeans into them. They were still a little roomy at the top which is what I wanted stylewise.The sizing of this boot is what I was worried about the most. I wear an 8 as a rule (sometimes a 7.5 if I want the fit to be a little snugger, and I always wear a size 38 Euro. On the Arche website, it says if you wear an 8, to order a 39. If you wear 8-8.5 order a 39. If you wear 7.5-8 order a 38. The girl at Arche said they would stretch out a tiny bit and you want them to be a little smaller. I did try them on wearing peds, but I had also been walking in the hot sun to get there, so I'm sure my feet were on the more swollen side and will be just fine with socks. I'm glad I went with the size 38. Do note that the end of the toe is not too soft, it is hardened and shaped. The rest of the leather is butter soft. :)Over all I think this is an extremely versatile shoe. It can be dressed up, or cuffed for a more casual look. You can wear them under pants or over tight jeans or leggings. They are comfy, made EXTREMELY well and Amazon has the best deal on these shoes by far.Definitely worth the investment.

Very soft wonderful leather!

This boot was oversized in width and needed a tighter ankle and a zipper on the side to make it fit. Looked like a Santa boot, not very attractive on me since I am shorter. It was very cushy and I loved the classic arche toe design.The wedge is hard to walk in for me also, since there is no breaking point in the center for a foot to flex. Amazon return policy is not the best, the shoe has to be defective to not get charged return shipping so will buy my shoes from Zappos from now on!
