Amazing can for highrise buildings with trash compactors and small chutes

As the heading says, I live in a high rise and we have a small garbage chute, where I'm always limited to small amount of trash at one time. This garbage can is just what I needed. 5.6 gallons round forms a perfect ball of trash, anything bigger, even 8gal, just would not fit.Lid operation is smooth! Just so nice to have a quiet lid, it lowers in about 3 seconds. I also love the high dome, because it does not touch he garbage, even if the trash can is almost full.Can is truly fingerprint proof, I just have to give it a quick wipe with a wet paper towel once in a while.The top is nice and strong, actually, it's not bendable, that's how great it is. It's nice, as some other simplehuman cans actually have very thin lids, which easily bend inward with a big BOOM. I had to return another can because of this. My bigger 18lb cat loves to jump up on counters, and the first time he used the garbage can to go up, it was such a big noise, I literally ran into the kitchen thinking something fell and broke.I use regular Glad 13gal bags. There's a hole in the back of the inside can, and I just pull the bag through it, and it perfectly forms without any left overs.Now, a helpful hint... be mindful of the gap. There's a 2.5inch clearance this trashcan needs in the back, because of the nice high-rounded lid, which opens to swing behind the can. I actually had to go to local Lowes and cut a tile to this width for the gap, as I could not find anything in the house that could stand up to constant sliding back of the can from opening/closing and pushing with my foot.

Lid closes quitely and slowly. No figure prints on the can. I can use grocery bags as garbage bags (just have to put a brick on the bottom of the can to do this). Can is perfect size!! Keep the dog out. Pricey. Slow shipping.

who only has trash collection once a week. By trash day, I have just filled it. And it is a nice smaller size - but holds a lot. I never liked those massive trash cans, they seem to take over your entire kitchen. This sits under the edge of my kitchen table, so I don't lose any floor space. And with this design, which has a high lid, you can even over fill it a bit and the lid closes without touching garbage. Very nice design, very user friendly, I might get another for my recycling.
