Easy precision wheel dressing. In designing the system we recognized that the condition of the grinding wheel is one of the most important elements to perfect grinds , the slideway makes dressing easy , the wheel is perfectly parallel and flat , most other systems rely on hand dressing , this is like Woodturning with a blunt chisel and expecting great turning results.

Nova sharpening system

This sharpening center REALLY gets the tools sharp, but there are two things I think would improve it. One, Nova needs to come up with a system to help keep the tool on the grinding wheel. It's hard to keep the tool from slipping off the grinding wheel. Two, it would be nice if the measuring bar had the numbers imprinted in the metal instead of just a stick-on piece of paper. The stick-on numbered tape started to come off the very first time I used it. Other than that, it works great.There is another system for sale that keeps the end of your gouge or chisel on the grinding wheel when you are turning it. I would probably opt to purchase this system over the Nova, even though it is a little more money, if I were to replace the Nova system, because it would be easier and faster to use.The Nova Sharpening Center is a good system though, and is much, much better than trying to sharpen by hand.
