Grandoe Swich Leather Gloves- A high quality glove

These gloves are very well made, attractive, and they are very comfortable! The switch concept of "grip" and "warm" options is clever, but not something I need for skiing. They are not as warm as I had hoped. I inserted another cheap cotton glove into the grip section to add more palm thermal insulation. The combination of this added thermal layer and use of chemical warmers in the zippered back of the hand regions resulted in relatively warm fingers even with a -4 degree temperature at the gondola exit area at Gore Mountain, NY on 1/31/11. It was difficult to compare how warm various gloves would be based on the information provided by manufacturers descriptions. Some gloves have ratings in grams of insulation. I don't know what this means exactly. Apparently, 100 grams is considerably warmer than 40. It seems that the "Expedition" model is likely warmer than others. The price I paid was about $101.00 at Amazon which was far less than the $169. I found elsewhere.
