Surely One of the Best Deals Around

This pedal arrived 2 days ago and I'm very pleased with it. I'm not remotely close to being knowledgeable about pedals but I know this pedal's vastly superior to the Hofner overdrive pedal I have. I also know that for $39.54 and free shipping (courtesy of Amazon.com), I got a really good deal. The Hofner overdrive is so quiet, that even when the volume knob's turned all the way up, it's not appreciably louder than the guitar sounds before the pedal's engaged. I don't have that problem with the Visual Sound overdrive. This pedal's got all the volume you'll need and more. It's also got bass and treble knobs, which are a blessing when you've got a number of guitars with pickups running the gamut from a Tele's "icepick" bridge to the muddiest of cheap, low-end humbuckers. I'm very pleased with the extent of this pedal's gain. I compared this stompbox with it's Hofner counterpart and the Hofner set with the gain knob dimed sounded like the Visual Sound OD when it's gain knob was set at nine o'clock. I kid you not. This Visual Sound pedal is also quite heavy and seems to be very solid. I was tempted to give this overdrive 4 stars at the start of this review, not because I'm slightly dissatisfied with it, but because a better overdrive probably exists. But it occured to me that one probably wouldn't get a better overdrive than this for this price. So I'm giving this pedal 5 stars.

As far as OD peadals go this one works well. Not really high gain but a tube like grind that has a lot of tone variety and maintains the single note clarity even while playing chords.
