The Ironwood Pacific EasyTroller Fins Model is designed to eliminate damage to the trolling plate under premature acceleration. It mounts directly to the anti-cavitation plate, snaps down into position for trolling, and is released with a pull cord when ready to run at speed. If the boat prematurely accelerates before raising the trolling plate, the lower half of the plate will simply flex upward before bending or breaking the shear pins.

Fine piece fabricating

This thing works great, when you get it with the fins it's better still. By its self it still works like a dolphin plate besides being able to slow the boat down. With the spring loaded bottom it won't bend the plate if you forget to release it before you take off. Or if it releases it's self in heavy weather(I've had that happen on one without the spring, and a 350 Chevy will bend it up with no effort). It brings my 27' Cruiser with a 260 HP V8 down to under 1 mph with no problem. It's well built and does what it claims. I have two now and am sure I'll be buying more in the future for future boats. AAAAA+++++

Installed on my new 90 hp E-TECH. Slowed my boat down to .8 to 1 MPH with flap down. With flap up, didn't seam to lose any speed. Still can get up on plane and pull waterskiers.

Not for Volvo Penta Drives

Searching the internet, it has been suggested that this unit will work on a Volvo Penta. I wouldn't recommend it. I returned it.
