Durable materials! Plenty of space in the 60" length for our 9' full tree

After five Christmases, we were just not going to be able to wrestle our 9' tree into it's original box any longer. I was hoping to find a replacement box, maybe plastic. After researching the available replacement options it turns out there aren't any boxes the size of Christmas tree boxes. Rubbermaid - wanna get on this? Anyway, it looked like bags were the only replacement option after the original cardboard box has become more tape than box. I figured all Christmas tree bags would be nice heavy canvas duffle bags, since it seems obvious that bulky metal tree poles would require it. Instead, all of the Christmas tree bags were rated average-to-poor, and customers complained that they were made out of thin nylon, with puny zippers and dress-shirt weight stitching. I was feeling desperate because our tree was literally pouring out of it's broken box in the middle of the living room. What was I going to do with it?Then I found the Covermates Christmas Tree Storage Bag in the 60x24x24 size. It is DURABLE, HEAVY CANVAS (fused on the inside with a liner coating that makes it even more durable), with STRONG STITCHING and LARGE STRONG ZIPPERS. AND it has these two great nylon belt cinches that will help squeeze your tree into a more-managable width. The corners of the bag are sturdy enough that when the bag is cinched up with the belts, the shape is rectangle again (though not as unwieldingly rectangle as an actual box would be). It has two strong handles on the ends to carry it. Our 9' very full tree breaks down into 4 parts with the largest pole being 50" long. I had tied the sections up with some ribbon to make them skinnier (this was when I was originally trying to get it into the cardboard box) but they were still very full pieces. All the pieces fit EASILY into the Covermates bag. This would definitely accommodate an even larger tree, or also a few wreathes or garlands or whatever. At first one of the metal tree poles was jutting hard into the side of the canvas and I worried that it might rub through (not tear or break through, but maybe wear through if the bag got rubbed while dragging it or rubbed against in the garage) - so I just moved it further towards the center of the bag (there was plenty of room to make fitting adjustments) and it was no longer a concern.I highly recommend this bag and would definitely buy it again. After seeing what else is out there, this one was a clear winner.EDITED TO ADD (2013): Worked perfectly and is still in like-new condition after it's second Christmas. I like the quality of this bag so much I invested in two of the ornament boxes from the same company - and they are just as wonderful. Still 100% recommend!

I read all reviews before I purchased this product. All were favorable and accurate. When I received this item, I was so impressed even before I got it fully unpacked. The red color to me looks like a red/burgandy--beautiful. The canvas like material is thick and durable. Two taupe color straps about 20 inches apart, surround the bag horizontally and secure the bag tightly, each strap with its own, heavy duty clamp. The bag has a taupe color zipper, which matches the straps. The zipper extends the length of the bag and around each outer end. The zipper is heavy duty like the ones on suitcases. This huge zipper opening allows you to get the tree in and out of the bag easily. There is a 14 x 30 inch peekaboo thick clear plastic insert, which allows you to see the contents in the bag. I ordered the large which had plenty of space for my 8ft tree. Even though my tree has three parts, I put the tree in the bag whole, with no problem. Lastly the bag has a securely attached handle at the top of the bag for you to pull wherever you desire. Very very happy with this pruchase. I give the product five stars. It would get six stars(no such rating) if it had wheels or could stand upright instead of lie flat!Linda BallanceHouston Texas

My 6 foot tree fits in with plenty of room for a wreath and some garland. It has to lay lengthwise like in the picture; I was hoping for more bag support, but this still beats taping and re-taping a cardboard box. Overall I'm very happy and it's held-up perfectly for this past year, including a move.
