A good first step into proper pro level switches

This series from HP (originally 3Com) offers very good performance for a great price. There are a lot of features available in the OS and all of the important functionality of more expensive switches is inside. Spanning Tree, Port Mirroring, VLAN and moreThe web based configuration is easy to navigate and understand.The 4 Copper/Fiber GBIC ports are unpopulated but can be filled cheaply and can provide a nice interconnect should you want to without using ports.All around a good series. I am using 8 in my main server room and some have been running for years without any lock ups or other issues requiring a restart. So A+ for stability. I would be comfortable putting these into all but the largest locations which might need extremely heavy duty processors or insanely large ARP tables.
