The MSA Advantage 1000 Respirator has a wraparound lens that provides you with an excellent fit and comfort with increased vision. It weighs 40% less than conventional full-face respirators making it less strenuous on the head and neck. It is constructed of a super soft HycarTM which gives you the same feel of comfort of silicone but it has a better permeation resistance. Comes complete with a speaking diaphragm, for short-range communications and a nosecup that reduces lens fogging in low temperatures or high-humidity conditions. Compatible with the MSA Advantage Filters and Cartridges.

Easy to use, clean and maximum comfort

I have trained with and used this product at work. At first, it feels complex but with practice, taking it off and on became more seamless. The flexible silicone seating fits the face well. Due to the construction of this mask, fogging up was not an issue. You will sweat, but there's a one-way valve at the bottom that drains.Breathing was easy, and even people who had difficulty with other masks or were claustrophobic had no issues. This is perhaps due to the superior visibility, therefore there is no limiting view or "closed in" feeling.The best way to store it in a near-ready position with the head gear actually pulled (opposite) over the face shield. There's a finger tab so that if you quickly need to place the mask on your face, you can pull the head gear over on to your head and then tighten the straps for a proper fit. After all the straps are tight, cover the filter with the palm of your hand and inhale. You can use this to determine if you have a good seal and if the mask is indeed air-tight.Cleaning is simple but necessary. If not, dirt and debris can stop a proper fit for the next use. I was advised not to use alcohol pads, instead use mild soapy water because the alcohol can dry the silicone face seal, and it needs to be flexible to be effective.Due to my familiarity, I also ordered a very similar mask for mold remediation.
