This portable model holds 50ft. of heavy-duty 12 gauge electrical extension cord and can operate freestanding, on a bench or table, or on a wall with an optional wall mount. A simple touch of a button, on the end of the cord or on the unit itself, and the RoboReel Power Cord System winds the cord in nice and neat every time.
The RoboReel difference begins with safety. Unlike spring-loaded reels which produce an uncontrolled whipping action that can be harmful to anything in their path, RoboReel employs a motorized, two-speed retraction system that slows down to dock eliminating whipping. The RoboReel also has redundant thermostats that reduce overheating and fire hazards and an emergency power shutoff feature that will turn off power if the cord is severed. Rewind will also stop if the cord is obstructed and it will not wind in the cord while a power tool is in use.
The RoboReel has many unique design features such as 360 degree rotation which allows you to reach any tool within a 100ft. diameter and a "smart" three outlet receptacle ball with a power/on off switch, retract button, and 3 LED indicator lights.

Great product

I haven't written any reviews of a tool but this thing is amazing. Who knew I'd be more productive because of a tool? I can tell you that I got rid of all my gas powered lawn tools and bought electric ones to solve one main issue and that was my wife couldn't start the leaf blower by herself as the little gas motor that could was finicky. I had a long extension cord that I had to lug outside every time. I now just take my portable unit to the outlet out front and away I go. When I'm done I press the button and it retracts. one thing I've learned to do is as I work closer to the ball, I just retract it to where I need and put a little pressure against the motor and it stops! That's cool. My projects take a lot less time which means more beer for me. I love this thing. This seems to be the first of a many projects for Great Stuff. I cannot wait to see what's in store for the future.

This is an awesome innovation that immediately replaced multiple extension cords in my shop. It did so on the basis of safety features, durability, and convenience. With built-in over current and over temperature protection you get added protection that most extension cords do not have. Add to that the convenience of being able to remove power to a tool without needing to unplug it and the ability to push a button and have 50 feet of cord coiled for you and you have near perfect tool.The documentation provided was clear and complete. It includes instructions for replacing components that might need to be replaced which are readily available on the company's website.

I bought this for my boyfriend who is a handyman by trade. He has most every tool and I was trying to think of what I could get that would be unique. I saw this advertised in Family Handyman magazine. He loves it! His friends think its neat! Well done, Robo Reel.
