Baby Trend walker
By MayMay
I was surprised when I started shopping for walkers to see how few there are available, and how pricey some of them are. Baby Trend, according to its own website, makes two, which as far as I can see are identical except for color and theme. It/they are listed by BT at $40, and I bought it at Babies R Us for that price. Don't be fooled into overpaying! Our little guy is 5MO and is about 25 inches 'long,' so it's early for a walker, but he likes it. The middle seat height allows his feet to reach the floor. I like that the tray is level and not cluttered with a lot of attached toys; the toy bar on this one can be removed easily. Right now --Day One--he is pushing himself backward, but that's fine with him. The back wheels don't swivel, but that seems to be standard for walkers now. I foresee no problems. I'm holding back one star only because we haven't yet given it a real run for its money.

Works for Baby #2
By Ju Lee Morgan
My mother bought this at Toys R Us for my daughter (the 1st born) and at 3 months when she first sat in it she was ecstatic! We set it to the lowest setting and her feet just touched the floor. It was (at the time) inexpensive, simple (really, do babies need ALL the extra stuff some of these walkers come with?)and had a tray big enough to put things on. The bar going across the front was a big bonus since she had started to teeth. She was happy to sit in it and gnaw on the bar which made everyone happy. The only real complaint I had (and still do) is that the seat easily detaches itself from the front of the walker. Anytime she (and now he) would play in it, the fasteners holding the front part of the seat would come out of the anchors. More of an annoyance having to put it back so frequently than anything else. It wasn't so bad at first (now it's nearly constant, I will be using superglue as soon as I get some)but with repeated use and being lifted in and out, it wore them down a bit and they pop out more. My son (also using at 3 mths) loves this walker. He has no problems scooting, just when the seat pops down he has gotten his arm caught beneath the tray. It's also a fun place to feed them if they cannot sit up on their own. I have had this walker for nearly 6 years and it still works just like it did when my daughter first got it. I had very low carpet the first time we used this and now have hard floors, so I can vouch for it working fine on those surfaces. Also, because there are not a bunch of stuff on the walker, he actually concentrates more on walking and will scoot himself to whatever catches his fancy. He can even get out of corners of his own because all the wheels have full range of motion. Oh, and the best part, it's easy to clean!
