4Great hitch!
By norsepiper
Put this on a 2012 Jetta S. Nice and stout, good welds, thick paint. Easy install with basic tools and a floor jack or ramps. There are video tutorials on the install process. The bracket to the tire well was about a 1/4 inch off, but otherwise fit great. As this bracket is pretty thick, I decided not to draw it in with the bolt. A couple of big washers as a shim worked fine. 5 stars if not for that. It also is tucked nicely under the rear of the car, you barely notice it's there. You certainly won't bang your shins on it when you don't have the receiver in. Now go buy one!

5Hidden Hitch vs. Curt 2011 VW Jetta TDI
By Joel, W
Long story but I'll try and make it short... I've had both on the car and the Curt is a much better hitch!Purchased a Hidden hitch and installed it on my my Jetta two years ago to pull a little cargo trailer. At the time, it was the only hitch available for the car since 2011 was a new model year for VW and Curt hadn't made one yet.The Hidden Hitch is a much litter duty hitch and mounts using one less bolt. I'm pulling a little 13' Casita camp trailer that weights about 1500 lb and the Curt, while stating it's a class I is really a Class II based on the size and because the receiver is better reenforces and will accept a class II ball mount where the Hidden Hitch wont. I'm sure it's a legal issue but I've seen class III that aren't as beefy as the Curt is. While the Jetta with the 5-speen manual TDI is only has 1000 lbs tow rating, with electric brakes installed it has plenty of power to pull and stop providing you've installed the correct brake controller. In addition the curt is a nicer quality unit; it's better looking and all fits the car better than the Hidden Hitch when it came time to install. The Hidden hitch has you throw away the bottom plastic cover shield while the Curt give you a pattern to cut an access slot in the cover to help improve the aerodynamics under the rear car. Glad I kept mine, because it's now installed back on the car like it should be.Please take my advise... Buy the Curt!Happy trailering! :)

Excellent fit. Everything works. Not sure why I need so many words to finish this survey. It is only trailer hitch.
