Hitch is a good fit on a 2012 Honda Civic EX 4 dr sedan but if I were to do it over again I would see if when reinstalling the heat shield, I might be able to just bend the corner of the heat shield to fit over top of the installed hitch instead of cutting it off.... worth a try. (instruction photos are not specific to the 2012 model and also the photo on Amazon add is generic and does not depict the actual hitch # 114372). Great price from Amazon, arrived quicker than expected...
