5Great small business / office backup
By K. Day
This is a great solution for on-site backup for small business and offices (10 computers or less) without having to maintain a full server online. If a hard drive crashes, the system can be restored rapidly to a new HDD. Backups are EASY to set up and are automatically done. Unlike some other 'recovery' systems, this has not failed to restore a WORKING HDD - system, files, settings - everything. Maximum local backup with minimum effort and support.

4does the job!
By gcphost
why would anyone have to reformat this? take it out of the box, plug it in and get going! auto backups ALL my pc's with 0 effort, had it working almost instanly.gets 4 starts not 5 because the sucker is LOUD - it 'eak eak eak's all the fn time, annoying, but I got it on 2011 black friday for about $200. cant go wrong. 2012 im upgrading to more hdd's to backup even more.there are better units out there, hp makes one up from this, id recommend that - it doesnt eak - and is actually fast enough to use.the atoms are slow crap, dont expect this to do much more then power the os and maybe a few minor programs to run in the background.

1Terrible Product
By josgan
This is a truly horrible product and it has caused me to write off HP entirely at home and at work. I could not get this to work correctly after completely re-installing the OS and performing every update which is was agonizingly slow. As a comparison I connected my 4 bay usb2 enclosure to my Dell Mini 10v laptop and enable Windows software RAID and the Dell mini was twice as fast. Also when I was trying to figure out the problem with this I opened it up while it was on and nearly burned my hand on the drives, I quickly grabbed my IR thermometer and shot the drives and they were all at 135F and ambient room temperature was 53F; a temperature that will drastically decrease the longevity and performance of any drive. I quickly shut this thing down and sent it back after I saw that because I am certain it is a fire hazard. The seller was great about everything, it is just a horrible product.
