Product Description
Socket Cap Screws are reliable and durable and are used in many applications. They are available in a variety of head styles and materials.
Alloy Steel is steel that has been alloyed with other materials to improve overall physical properties. Steels are designated by a 4 number SAE Steel grade. The first two digits indicate the primary materials used to form the steel. The last 2 digits identify the percentage of carbon for the alloy (in hundredths). Tensile strength ranges for the alloys typically used in these fasteners range from 170,000 to 180,000 psi (pounds per square inch), making these amongst the strongest of materials.
Flat head fasteners are designed to fit flush to the surface when used with countersunk holes. Length is measured from the top of the head. Hex socket drive systems are driven by hex wrenches or power tools with hexagonal bits.
A threaded fastener's size name includes information about the major external diameter (in millimeters), followed by the thread pitch (millimeters per thread), which indicates if it is coarse or fine.

Disappointed by the product
By Motodio
Before purchasing this product I read the only Amazon review available which stated that the bolts (screws) came threaded from the head to the end and this is what I needed. The product showed the screws with threads only on the end but I had looked at other online sources of the same screw and the photo was the same but the other descriptions said the screw was threaded from the head to the end. So I figured the picture of this product was a facsimile. The product description didn't address the length of the threads, which it should. Well the screws came with only 20mm of threads, which won't work for my project. Also the screws came with light surface rust on some so I dipped one in water for 30 minutes and let it dry to see what would happen. Light surface rust was visible as a result. This means the screws potentially could rust lock the threads if exposed to outside weather over time.... not very good. I would return the screws but I've waited almost 2 weeks to get them so I'll die cut additional threads to meet the needs of the project and oil the threads to thwart rust.

Better than listed.
By Raymond Bowen
These screws are actually threaded from cap to bottom and are also coated in protective black oxide. Better than expected!
