Great rear seat cover, especially for those with leather seats!
By momofcole&scout
I did an enormous amount of online research before I bought this rear seat cover for my 6 month old 2011 Subaru Forester. I also bought and tried out a couple other covers from local pet and automotive stores. This is by far the best quality, best design, and best fitting cover that I have found. I have leather seats and cart around a 90 pound lab almost every day. He managed to put a small hole in the seat, I assume with his nails, so it was really important that I get a good cover, that was going to protect the seat and not slide all over the place. The part of the cover that sits on the seat bottom is padded, so I feel like there is some protection from his nails. The part that covers the seat back is not padded, but is still made from a relatively heavy material that will provide protection from water, mud, dog hair, etc. I am not sure if it is washable, but I assume that it can at least be hand washed when it gets really dirty. I wouldn't put it in the dryer, but might attempt to put it in the machine on delicate. The rubber backing really does keep it from sliding around on the seat. There are neoprene "straps" on the underside of the cover that are supposed to keep the corners secure to the seat bottom, but because of my seat design these don't work in my car. That made this part of the cover slippery, so I put a piece of non-skid rug pad in that area and that did the trick to keep that part of the cover from sliding around. I really like that the cover has an edge that covers the front and sides of the seat, instead of just hanging over in these areas. This design pretty much keeps the cover in place, and keeps it from exposing the seat, even when the dog is walking around on it. My dog did not really like the sound and texture of the cover, it is a little "crunchy", so I put a towel down on top of it and he laid down and went to sleep. I think he will get used to it. The cover was significantly more expensive than the others I looked at, but the little details are definitely worth it, especially if you have leather seats. I think I am going to get another one to have on standby when this one is in the wash. I am going to get one for my husband's car also. I would highly recommend.

More expensive...but worth every penny!
By D. Coates
This car seat protector is more expensive than many others, but it is well worth the extra $$ if you have leather seats due to the "non-slip" fabric they added to the back of the cover. It really does prevent the seat cover and your pet from sliding when they are in the car which can be a real safety issue.

Not just for 4-legged passengers
By jomamatoo
Like a few other reviewers - I do my research and comparison. Against LL Bean, Cabelas and high-end pet suppliers this was the best choice and now after use, is an exceptional value. The way it's tailored to fit a seat (not just lay over it) has straps that adjust for a good fit, has rubber corner reinforcements and heavy-duty construction, impressed me to write a review. We don't have a luxury sedan w/leather seats but we do have a van with bench seats and THREE Great Danes. When they get up and onto a seat (or even prop a hip and slide onto it) it's 185+ pounds of solid bulk, slobber and toenails that can gouge siding off a house. My expectations for a seat cover are about the same as NASA for space shuttle re-entry shielding. Not only have these seat covers performed beyond expectations, but have proven extremely durable, easy to install AND stay in place with no shifting and bunching down into the crack. After considerable daily use (Pacific NW = wet/muddy dogs) they are holding up well without tears, rips or punctures and still looking great after a couple of washings.Exceptional product, highly recommended and believe they should also be considered if you haul muddy passengers who wear cleats.Petego Dog Car Seat Protector, Rear, Gray, X-Large
