Partially Disappointed

My wife and I originally bought the Lorex add-on camera to go along with the full Lorex system we purchased at the same time. We LOVE the Lorex cameras and the monitor is top-notch, so we had no reason to expect different from the add-on cam. To our surprise, the add-on cam is not the same as the 2 that came in the box with the original monitor purchase. We noticed a slight difference in build right out of the box. All of the cameras have a flawed cord system in our opinion. What I mean is where the charging plug goes into the camera itself, it's a flat attachment, not round. This means that you can't swivel or rotate the cord at all without it either breaking the fragile housing of the camera. This is so counter-intuitive that if you're hanging a cam on the wall, you're bound to be frustrated by the position and lack of movement available for the cord. The first add-on camera we received just stopped working suddenly after about 3 weeks. It wasn't the battery, it wasn't the cord. It just gave up unexpectedly. The customer service was EXCELLENT however, as the shipped us a new one overnight even while they waited to receive our return shipment. The second camera arrives and just like that, on the very first night, a slight turn of the cord where it meets the cam (with absolutely no give), and the housing cracks! WE JUST GOT IT BACK!!! My suggestion to Lorex would be to insure that the quality of their add-ons matches the quality of their package cams. Also, make the cord attachment like the thousands of cord attachments on similar items, rounded and moveable. This, I'm sure will prevent similar reviews.....Final verdict: We LOVE the Lorex system, but the add-on cams leave a lot to be desired.

Customer services leaves much to be desired!

I bought 3 cameras to go with the 1 I already had. Recieved them and the very first one I opened was missing the power adapter so it's of no use to me. Wrote to Lorex customer service did not recieve a reply. Wrote again to Lorex customer service again got no reply. Finally had my Husband call they wanted the reciept sent to them. Sent the reciept and now 10 days later habe heard nothing back from them. Very disapointed.

invaluable peace of mind!

My husband and I ordered this system when it was on sale. We have a 2 year old daughter and a son on the way and we decided that we wanted a video monitor system with our 2nd child (we had an audio-only system with our daughter).We love that this system allows up to 4 cameras. The picture is very nice and the sound quality is also very good. We have never experienced any "white noise" or "beeping" like another poster said so I'm not sure what that's all about.In fact, I really have no complaints over this system. I love being able to watch my daughter sleep and know what she's doing when she's awake but being quiet in her crib. I can take snapshots with it to show my hubby what funny positions she was sleeping in while he was gone.Having this system, versus using our old audio-only system, may have even saved us a trip to the doctor or ER yesterday when I put my daughter down for a nap and then went to get the monitor and I saw her with one leg over the side rail of her crib (she'll be 2 in a couple weeks but she's never tried to get out of her crib, in fact she loves being in her crib!). So I was able to immediately go into her room and lay her back down before she got hurt.I can't wait to use it with our son when he is born!
