Solid, easy, quick

I got the black version of this post, and it's the most stable, solid, and easy to use post I've seen in a long time. My old mailbox got wiped out by a car, and a trip to the local "big-box" blue hardware store didn't thrill me when it came to their selection of mailboxes and posts. I had purchased a cheap-o post just to stick a mailbox on until I could find a suitable replacment, but it took about another week to find this Liberty post.This post is really designed to be used with their spiral auger, but I went with a 4x4x6 instead. My problem in finding a post was that I have a T2 mailbox, the larger version of a standard box (but smaller than the really big "church" mailboxes) and I couldn't find anything with a wide enough support. This post fits the bill due to their adjustable mount, and it really works. The only thing I added was another three decking screws through the support arm into the 4x4 post, but I'm not sure I really needed them even with the larger box. Installation was quick and easy once I got the 4x4 dug in. It looks great, and it is definitely more than sturdy enough.

Excellent product; well made, attractive and easy to install. Did not use the optional installation kit. Would highly recommend using a 4x4 presssure treated post, which adds significant stability. Filling any inside empty space around the wooden post with sand adds to the external post's overall stability, too.Would recommend the optional newspaper attachment to decrease need for additional newspaper post, if you use one.

This post should hold up well in the Pacific Northwest. The assembly and install went well, but if I were to do it over again, I would absolutely NOT use Liberty's screw-in anchor that this post was designed to accommodate. Had I used a post-hole digger and a 4x4 treated post, the stability of this post would have been MUCH better. When this post slides over a planted 4x4 post, and is secured, it will probably outlive you. The installation of an over-sized box on the post was a no-brainer. The provided mount was easy to figure out and attach. Additionally, I installed the optional newspaper box under the mount, without any trouble. A very good-looking and hopefully long-lasting mailbox post solution.
