Good Medium Duty Clippers

I'll start off by mentioning that it took forever to receive these clippers from Petco. While I am comfortable with a long wait for a California to Maine ground shipment, it was Petco's slow processing policy that slowed it to a crawl. I ordered the clippers at noon EST, so 9am PST Monday, May 30th and Petco did not process and ship the clippers until Friday June 3rd! 5 full days in their warehouse. When contacted they considered it normal practice, and not a big deal that they didn't ship it out same day or even next day. It actually took UPS less time to ship it on the ground across the country than it took Petco to process it. I'd stay away from Petco for purchases if you're looking for a quick shipment.With that being said, these are a great medium duty clipper. They are NOT professional by any stretch of the imagination, but if you are the type of person that can keep up with the growth of your pet's hair and the pet is mat free, these should breeze through. The included size 4FC blade (which in all honesty is the only reason I bought this kit) is the perfect length for our Golden Doodle's summer cut. Unfortunately we had let her get so long and matted that the clippers labored heavily and bogged down a fair amount. I oiled the blade and cleaned it over and over to ensure I didn't seize up. Finally about half way through I had to stop because I feared the clippers were about to burn out. I finished the job the next day and she is now happy as can be.My only other gripe is that the included blades are a proprietary design to be used with this model only. I thought I was buying a clipper with blades that could be used later on with a better set of clippers, but this is not the case. As with many products on Amazon, the descriptions are quite lacking in detailed information.So in conclusion, if you are an idiot like me and have let your pet get a little too long and matted over the winter, these clippers are going to labor quite a bit. If you are using them to keep up with an unmatted coat, they will breeze through with no problem. I'm looking forward to the next cut in a month or two because I know these clippers will do the job well. The bottom line is, however, if you are looking for a powerful professional set of clippers look at the over $100 models, like the Oster A5 or Andis 22215 or Andis 23175, then purchase a good blade to accompany it.

Good Clippers, GREAT COMPANY!

When I first turned them on, I was amazed how quiet they are. I used them on my Lhasa, he was quite matted, my fault. It took a while to clip him but the clippers did the job. They did heat up, but his fur was really matted. THe next day, I turned them on and man were they loud, guess I overheated them. I called Andis, they replaced the whole set, just had me send in the headpiece. Great company. I know it was my fault for overheating. I have the new one and they are still operating very quietly. I am not overheating now that his coat is short. I can even clip right in his ear with no trouble, sooo quiet!

Clippers Wow Wow

I've just used the clipper set once but so far everything works great. The clippers are sharp with no hair pulling on my dog. I am very glad I bought these with the groomer raising her prices again. I will admit my shitzu may not look the best this time around,but since hair cutting takes practice, she will look better each time!! Shipper was great too!
