Usefull but be aware!
By Frans
I have bought and used this product recently on trips to Greece and Switzerland. My experience was positive but not without warning to users. Please read the enclosed instructions very, very carefully. I had my D3000 on the side "holster" and my D 300 on my chest. I made the mistake NOT to use the attached "sling" cords/bands supplied with the product. Being active I dropped my D3000 twice because it moved out of the groove where it was supposed to "lock" into. The same happened with my D300. This time I was climbing up a staircase and my D300 came out of the "groove" and fell. The damage to the D300 was US $150. Fortunately my 70 - 200 f2.8 Nikon lens was not affected.I also find the tightening screw(s) not very effective. I think if the manufacturers/designers were able to come up with a "lock nut" idea and use it on the piece that slides into the "breast plate" it may help. I had to frequently tighten this mechanism on both camera bodies. It may be because I take them out frequently. I use the 70-200 on the D 300 body and given the fact that it is a heavy lens, one needs to constantly check that the mechanism is in place and tightened. On the D3000 I use a 10-24 wide angle lens - as it is a lighter body and lens I had to tighten the "connector" at the bottom of my camera less often. My single biggest complaint about the product is the fact that the device supplied to tighten the connector to the body of the camera was very poorly designed. It is to small and does not give a used adequatre leverage to tighten the the "connector" well enough. I want to warn potential users to either carry an additional Leatherman or Swiss Army knife with you to ensure adequate leverage to tighten the mechanismThe harnes sits comfortly on one's body and the adjustments are made relatively easily. I am not 100% confident about the break force of the additional sling "cords/starps". If a camera with a battery pack and a heavy lens get unhooked I am not sure if the bands or straps can sustain the sudden power shock exerted on it in a fall. I have replaced my "strips/bands" with light metal chains I bought in Lucern. Will I recommend it. Yes definitely but please pay attention to my other remarks.

Works as Advertised
By Mark J. Hughes
Pros: I purchased this product yesterday and used it this evening with a two-camera setup (Canon 7Ds with flashes, L-series lenses, and two monopods mounted on the lens-rings.) As advertised, it takes the weight completely off of your shoulders and you don't fatigue the way you would if you were slinging them off of your shoulders or your neck. I plan to continue using this product -- it appears to be ridiculously well made, with plenty of Velcro adjustability. I don't see anyway that you could possibly lose your gear wearing this.Cons: Prior to tonight, I wore a vest and had a camera strap on either shoulder. I'd then wear a jacket over the vest for warmth. Most times things were relatively well concealed and close to my person -- Tonight, I had three separate people say "So you're the cameraman eh?". This is an obvious cameraman rig, and you will not wear it into discrete locations without looking quite obviousIf you put a flash on your 2nd camera (on the side holster), it holds it a bit far from your body. I was making a conscience effort not to bump into people/things.Suggestions:There are mounts for two cameras, and that's it -- no room for extra batteries, a water bottle, etc... If you like having extra batteries/lenses/etc...you'll need a belt to go with this setup.Review update: I've had the product for about a year now, and I'm still as happy with it as the day I bought it. I do some annual events, and one in particular usually leaves me a sweaty mess and exhausted for the next day. This year, I used the cotton-carrier system and a lowepro belt for accessories. I barely broke a sweat & finished about 1-hour earlier than I have in the past four years with plenty of energy. Since I was more energetic, I took better photos towards the end of the gig. I had absolutely no idea how much I had been suffering before using the system. I've also added a scottevest travel vest (www.scottevest) that I typically wear instead of the belt for shorter gigs. (I use the belt mostly to carry nalgene water bottles and external battery packs.) I absolutely recommend it.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!
By Friartuc
The Cotton Carrier system is without a doubt the VERY best way to carry your camera when engaged in active pursuits. There are several videos available to demonstrate and explain this product and I have found it works exactly as described.I am usually carrying a Canon 5D, Mark II with a 100-400m, "L" lens and another "L" lens of some sort. The weight of the camera and lens is quite heavy, but this system distributes the weight so effectively that it is no burden at all.I recently used it hiking/rock climbing in the Lake Tahoe area with WONDERFUL results. Then, last week I used it while pheasant hunting in MN. It was awesome. I was able to "sling" my shotgun and use the camera without any problem. The Cotton Carrier is very well made and durable. The system works exactly as advertised. I've now purchased another for Christmas for a friend. You will NOT be disappointed!
