Of all the Merrell Clog style these are the best for my Plantar fasciitis

Having been a chronic foot pain sufferer I have tried a vast variety of shoes. Having suffered from an earlier broken foot,a neuroma, and current plantar fasciitis you can say I have acquired a vast knowledge of shoes. First thing to know is shoe companies are constantly looking for ways to cut costs which translates into ever cheaper construction of popular shoes. If you find shoes that work for you --buy more than one pair cause you won't be able to find them again after a year or two. Shoe companies are also selling out to larger companies which immediately go about changing the lasts, etc leaving you a poor imitation of the original shoe for the same price. Merrell is one of these. Its Wolverine now and a mere shadow of the quality it use to be. I picked up some New Balance shoes and laughed out loud on how cheaply made they've become.If your suffering from foot pain you will need to try many different shoes to find one that works specifically for you. A shoe that works for one persons condition won't necessarily work for you. (I would recommend Brooks Beast, Brooks walking, Merrell clogs, Merrell Jungle MOC (older models are best), KEEN PTC model, KEEN Newport, Teva sandals (older are better), Mephisto (if your rich and have low volume feet).This model Merrell has a large rounded platform, roomy toe box, long smooth arch (works for my fasciitis). There is a nylon 3/4 shank which keeps the shoe from over flexing. The top portion of this particular Merrell is a bit higher than the Encore model which makes them stay on your feet better. You will notice your toes flexing as you get use to the clog style of shoe. The back of the shoe is deep enough to make them feel secure. These are still a quality shoe.Unfortunately after being sold to wolverine most of the other Merrell shoe line has gone thru the change making them so cheap they are a mere shadow of their former selves.

My husband is a big guy with wide feet who is hard on shoes. We we advised to order a size larger in Merrell's and every pair has that "broke-in" feel straight out of the box. And they last longer than any other brand we have tried. I love that. He won't wear anything else.

The Merrell Men's Encore Reach is extremely comfortable. One needs to be aware,however, that the shoe size tends to run a little large. This is not a criticism just fyi. The shoe is dressy enough for business wear as well as comfortable for any time wearing. I would but it again.
