Best bang for the buck
By Wade
2001 Saab 9-3 Convertible - I have been looking for a hitch for some time so I can mount a bike rack without it screwing up my deck lid and spoiler paint. They are very expensive to have installed (quotes from $375 to $728).There IS some drilling involved despite the description but it is light and very easy. I posted some photos with descriptions. This project only took me an hour to complete. I had to use ramps under the rear tires to get clearance for the drill but that was the only reason to raise the car.The product is over engineered and very sturdy. Depending on your car, it will not look like the one in their photo as you can see the one I installed for my car differs. The hitch does not hang lower than anything else under my car and I have not had issues with dragging on driveway drops or speed bumps which was a concern of mine. You will also note I had to trim the lower valance under the bumper. Don't stress about it, the valance is a 2 1/2 separate piece mounted to the bumper cover. If you mess up, they are easy to find to replace without replacing the whole bumper. Take your time on the cut and use a good rotary tool and it should be just fine.
