I was a little nervous to try this because its mainly marketed for adding steel threads to a softer metal like aluminum and I was going to be using it on my cast iron engine block. Well it worked out smooth as hell! I couldnt be happier.I had a brass fitting break off in my block and I had to drill out the brass and rethread in order to save the hole. I had a few small chips come off the edges of the drill bit when drilling through the iron to open the hole(no biggie). The tap worked great, cut the threads beautifully and using the insert tool to install the insert was super easy.Just follow the directions, which are short and sweet cause thats all thats needed, and it should work out well for you. I recommend getting the "Tap guide" also as I did, it made keeping the tap straight up and down easy and I was even using it completely horizontal! I added a photo of the installed insert. Kit comes with five(5) threaded inserts. I'll also add that the heads for the drill bit/tap/counterbore/insert tool are different sizes so you will have to look around for tap handles/wrenches that will fit. And a large drill for the drill bit & counterbore.
