Best Fan Ever

I have a difficult apartment to cool 20x40 feet, 12 foot ceiling, top floor, and no cross breeze. It could be cool outside and still the apartment was swetering. The difference this fan made is amazing. I have tried other fans including a pedestal 18 inch heavy duty fan. but none really helped unless blowing directly on you. I have this fan at about a 30 degree angle in a corner blowing into the room. The difference is amazing.I was very hesitant to spend so much on a "plastic" fan but this has been a great investment. The is light so it can easily be moved around. It is well built and engineered. Plastic can be be sturdy. If this were made of metal it would be difficult to moving it around. The fan is relatively quiet especially on the lowest speed. I usually forget its on.Some of the negative reviews seem to be for a different fan. GO figure.

This fan is one of the greatest household items we own. I have no idea how it does it, but it actually makes the air it blows colder. I have never had a fan be able to do that before-they usually just blow the warm air around. My mom bought us one after we all went crazy over hers. Even though it's short, we put it on the floor and tilt it up and it cools the room like crazy! Don't waste your money on any other fan. I'm really into how things look...but I don't care this fan isn't all that cute. Our cute stainless steel floor fan by a well-known maker is loud and annoying. This vornado is quiet, makes the air it blows cold and doesn't take up a lot of space. Amazing. I'm actually about to look for a standing one to replace the cute stainless steel one that drives me nuts.

I bought this at Costco for about $50. I have a difficult bedroom to cool like the other reviews. High vaulted ceilings, upstairs with one viable window, the sun hits it coming up on one wall, and then all day on the other wall. This thing kicks the air around like no other, I love it! I put it in the window at night and it cools the room drastically. I can't even get my room as cold with the AC as the vornado does by sticking it in the window. Unfortunately, all of my vents are in the ceiling, so I won't be able to put it directly in front of it but I know this fan will help keep me cool during the summer. On the lower speeds, the fan is very quiet. The high speed, not so much. But it's not a clunker either. If you're dying of heat, you'll live with the vornado on 5 because it'll make you cool! LOVE this fan, and I want to buy more for the rest of the house!
