After a hiatus of many years, Braun watches and clocks are back in production in 2011, Braun's decision to re-issue their collection, including some of the rare LCD watches from the 1970's, gained approval from Dietrich Lubs, co-designer with Dieter Rams. Lubs credits their independent and functionally-oriented design for the continued relevance of the Braun timepiece collections, some thirty years after their introduction. Eventually, there will be production for the complete line of Braun watches and clocks, as well as new, exciting and innovative Braun products.
The reappearance of Braun's complete wristwatch is a testament to the genius of the designers, and it hints at the numbers of loyal Dieter Rams adn Dietrich Lubs fans around the world.

A classic

I love this watch. The epitome of clean design. Works in both formal and informal settings. Size is perfect, too. Finally--a virtually silent movement, which I find to be important. I occasionally wish there was a date display, but can live without it.

We got this for my son's 21st birthday. He absolutely loves it and says it was just what he was looking for. How amazing is that? He wears it all the time, just going to classes at college. But, it can be dressy as well. He says he has received numerous compliments on the watch. He is a smaller guy and it is not too large on his wrist.

Quite large and easy to read may be obvious, but it's surprisingly well made and, at least this one, very accurate.The quartz crystal that governs the time keeping accuracy of just about every non-mechanical movement is the single determining factor. Temperature differences, sitting on the table vs. being worn is the other. Evidently Braun, or whoever makes the movement, has been careful at selecting tighter tolerance quartz crystals. Bravo.The watch is comfortable to wear and for us older types, easy to read the time without resorting to reading glasses. The uncluttered and straightforward dial is key to that. This is a good choice for those who think a wrist watch is primarily for timekeeping and not for bling.
