Product Description

Wood screws are designed to attach two pieces of wood together. They generally feature a smooth, unthreaded shank below the head which ensures a tight attachment, and the threaded portion of the shank is tapered to increase the holding power. Threads specially designed for use in wood effectively resist pulling out.

Brass is rust proof, corrosion resistant and polishes to a rich, golden color. Brass is easily soldered and brazed and accepts plating readily. The typical composition is 70% Copper and 30% Zinc. Strength increases with a higher percentage of Zinc.

Flat head fasteners are designed to fit flush to the surface when used with countersunk holes. Length is measured from the top of the head. Common applications for slotted screws include woodworking, although the drive style is not designed to be used with power drivers.

3Different size screws in same order
By H. Falkin
I guess they got screws from 2 different suppliers. Some of the boxes of screws were the size I ordered and some were too large. Same size listed on the boxes but different size screws. The shipped quickly and we were able to return the screws very easily. The price is excellent and if you don't already have the pieces drilled you should have no problems with the quality of the screws.

5A darn good screw
By J. Purson
I used these for a restoration project on an antique that had brass screws just like this one. I could not use the Phillips head varieties found everywhere because they look completely wrong on a vintage item. These are ideal and made the same way as in 1910 and do not have a coating on them so they can be chemically aged to lose the bright brass bling. I may have to buy one box of every size before they become unavailable.

4Nice screws
By Stephen Spencer
These screws look great and they're real brass - not brass plated steel. I'd recommend them. The package had a few odd sizes in it and didn't count to 100 so buy extra if you need them.
