WARNING: NOT made for power seats!
By R. Boatman
Exact Seats come in two flavors. One has two long velcro straps that pass all the way under the seat and attach together in the middle; the other have a white plastic lip integrated to the side flaps which is shoved under the plastic surrounding the seat bottom and grabs hold of the lip of the plastic bolster. In both cases, there are also two long front-to-back straps that feed through a buckle under and near the rear of the seat. The first one is for manual seats, and the second kind is for power seats. That's an important distinction, because it is much busier under a power seat. For example, my Escape's passenger seat (manual) is virtually empty underneath, and the straps pass right under the seat. On the driver's side (power), this is almost impossible - the rails under the bolster on which the seat rides are metals walls on either side of the seat that extend from the seat bottom to the floor. Here's the deal: the Exact Seat covers I bought (this review) and EVERY Exact Seat cover for the Escape that is sold in pairs just for the front seats, are MANUAL ONLY. The ones sold in a complete set (one pair front and one pair rear) have one driver's side POWER cover. You cannot buy a front-only set with a power version, you cannot buy a complete front-and-rear set in a manual version, and - here's the main reason for my less-than-enthusiatic review - you cannot possibly tell this from any of the descriptions or pictures on Amazon (notice how none of the pictures show the bottom of the seat?) - you have to visit Exact Seat's web site and even then it takes some digging. It took quite a bit of detective work to even figure that out, because the instructions are quite poor - Exact Seat apparently uses a single instruction sheet to cover every make, model, year, and variation with useful advice like "depending on your model, you may have to XXX." But the drawing did show that for a power seat we were supposed to have a bottom portion that was different than a non-power seat and we didn't, so that got me started on the investigation that eventually led me to Exact Seat's website and the real answer.AS IT TURNED OUT, we were able to get it to work anyway. Wrapping the straps all the way around the bottom of the bolster worked, sort of - the straps just barely reached enough to connect together, but when moving the seat forward or back the strap stretched and threatened to snap (not to mention that the tilt, angle, and retract controls were now hidden under the seat cover). We stuffed the long velcro straps between the seat and the bolster and, with a little wiggling of the strap, were were able to find a spot in the "wall" to pull the strap through. In other words, we were able to install it as though it was a manual seat anyway in spite of its design and the instructions. In fact, that worked so well (that the cover was tucked inside the bolster instead of covering the bolster) that we went ahead and violated the instructions by re-installing the manual passenger's side the same way.Net result: they're installed, look very good, and are indeed a glove-perfect fit. But a star off for the lousy generic instructions, and a big star off for selling power-seat specific covers only in a complete set of four (bad) and then not making that fact abundantly clear to buyers (inexcusable). Yes, we got it to work on an 2010 Escape but I think that was just a lucky fluke, on a different car or even different year it might have been quite impossible.Final note, the velour attracts cat hair and such like a magnet and the black shows it very clearly. On the other hand it appears to be easy to clean and can, in a pinch, be removed and washed. Not a slight against Exact Seat but something to consider in your choice of colors and materials.

great fit
By mom2010
These covers were suppose to be black but they are more like a dark gray. They fit great and the fabric is very soft and look really fitted. Glad I purchased them. Easy to install.

Great product, Great service.
By Poisonpony
I read the review of another customer that said these seat covers were difficult to install, they did not fit the drivers seat quite right, and to get the correct cover for the drivers electric seat you had to order the full set of front and back covers. I was concerned about that, so I gave them a call. I spoke with John and he was more than helpful. He sent me pictures and a video of an install, and gave me some great install tips. I asked him about the drivers seat issue. He told me the install instructions are generic. The covers for some vehicles will have plastic clips, my Ford Escape will not. I decided to take a chance because of the great price. I am glad I did.The install took about 20mins, and was relatively easy thanks to the great tips John gave me. These covers fit perfectly, you can't tell there are seat covers on unless you look really closely. I did not have the issue the other reviewer had with the electric seat controls being covered because I correctly placed the straps and material between the seat and the seats fascia, again thanks to Johns tips.If you are thinking about seat covers I highly recommend these.
